Get ready to learn how to level up your leadership skills, drive business growth, and expand your network at the Women Standing Together Leadership Intensive.

Join us for an empowering and inspiring Leadership Intensive exclusively for women! This in-person, full day event will take place at the University of Southern Maine, Abromson Community Center on April 21, 2026.

Commit to your personal growth as you spend the day participating in workshops specifically designed to enhance your leadership skills so you can walk away with actionable tips to be a stronger leader, maximize your impact, and drive business growth.

Over lunch, you will be matched with senior women in business in small group settings to allow for candid conversations about career development, business development, and professional growth. These conversations will pave the way for long lasting mentorship relationships.

Then, you’ll finish the day with a networking reception to deepen your connections with other women leaders in your community.

Leah Batt, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at CEI

Leah Batt is the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), a Maine-based community development financial institution with a mission to build just, vibrant and climate-resilient futures for people and communities in Maine and rural regions by integrating finance, business expertise and policy solutions in ways that make the economy work more equitably.

As CEI’s Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, Leah oversees media outreach, public relations, social media & website management and storytelling.

 

9:40- 10:20 am: Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: Women's Leadership in Unifying Communities

 

Moderated by Katie Sampson, Evening Anchor on CBS13/FOX23

After graduating from Suffolk University in Boston and reporting in Topeka, Kansas for two years, Katie began her career as a multimedia journalist at CBS13 and FOX23.

Katie was the morning anchor at WGME for nearly 10 years and in 2026 was promoted to main evening anchor. She’s passionate about storytelling and giving Mainers a voice, especially local businesses.

Katie Jones, CEO of Nimble Group, LLC

Katie Jones is a dynamic leader with a proven track record of transforming organizations and curating top-tier HR educational experiences. Since joining the company in 2016, Katie has held diverse roles, showcasing her adaptability and visionary leadership. From Faculty Manager to Chief Operating Officer, and now as CEO and Owner, she has continually elevated the brand.

Julia Kladder, MBA, OLY, Vice President, Transformation at MMG Insurance

Julia Kladder joined MMG in 2023 and serves as Vice President of Transformation.  She previously held leadership positions at General Electric, WEX, Wayfair, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, and VF Corporation. Beyond her educational and professional endeavors, Julia competed on the World Cup luge team from 2003 to 2015 and on the 2010 U.S. Olympic team, and she was inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame and the Maine Women’s Hall of Fame for her athletic achievements.

Amanda Denniston,

owner & winemaker At eighteen twenty wines

Amanda founded eighteen twenty wines in 2015. With a professional background in marketing and previous experience in the wine industry, Amanda combined her creative drive, love for Maine, and entrepreneurial spirit to turn that curiosity into a thriving boutique winery. Today, eighteen twenty wines continues to grow as a celebration of local agriculture, inventive winemaking, and bold ideas.

Karen middleton, publisher at mymaine media

A Mainer at heart, Karen has built relationships statewide through her career as publisher at Maine Magazine and sales director at edible MAINE and New England Home. When not working, Karen loves exploring the beach and woods with her dog, Arthur, tending to her vegetable gardens, and cooking British favorites with local ingredients.

Heather Blease founded SaviLinx as a Woman Owned Small Business in 2013 on the former Brunswick, Maine Naval Air Station. Under Heather’s leadership, SaviLinx built a record for providing world-class, fully managed, custom contact center solutions. Through programs serving State and Federal Government and commercial clients, Heather is fulfilling SaviLinx’s mission to Help People. Heather has more than 25 years of experience working in the contact center industry.
